okay i got permission by TheKid420 to post a new update on getting host on black ops. So all credit goes to him for this great tut You must login or register to view this content.

Well if you haven't seen his tut on forcing host with lag switch then go take a look at it before asking stupid question like "how do i make a lag switch" and all that crap. GOOGLE < use that.

its a short simple update nothing special or major

UPDATE:

-When joining the game you want, right when it says``testing matches xx% - 0/xx good games" or whatever % it is.
-Turn on you're lag switch and LEAVE IT ON THAT.
-don't switch it off as in 420's video.
-Takes about 10 seconds of lagging it at that you will be in your own lobby.
-Host Migration will happen. when migrating host just turn on till 4 and then off. no need to turn back on at 5. when i do that it usually lags me out.
-just a easier and simple way of getting you're own lobby instead of having to turn it on then off then on an then off.
INFO:
-After each game to see if you still have host or not.
-Turn on you're lag switch right when it gets to 0 before the game counts down
-When lagging it, if it starts counting down turn off lag switch and you'll still have host.
-If it doesn't count down while lagging then no host and back out.

HATERS
-Flame all you want. It's a game. Us lag switchers LOVE it when you cry about us lag switching.
-Everyone knows this game blows. So this is what makes the game fun for all who know Awesome face

If you would like me to post a video i will do so as soon as PSN is back up[/CENTER]

When you get enough people in the lobby to start a game turn lag switch on (which should start the host migration) when it gets to 4 and almost 5 turn the lag off. It works like a charm for me each time. I have mine setup where it runs like this. Modem to router then router to 5 port work group hub then my switch goes from hub to Xbox360. Hope this helps

thats what i try but then i lag out of lobby or freeze up and i still dont get host.. mine is setup router---switch---netgear 10/100m switch---xbox

im not sure why it wont let me host but when i try i get host 0/10 times

I to seem to get that freeze you are talking about too. Do you let it play out from there or do you back out of the lobby. When I get that freeze the next message I can see at the the top is the match is about to begin, it launches and I have host. Is your Modem and router all one unit or are they separate? Have you tried playing with a friend in a private lobby to make sure your switch is setup and working properly? To clarify my setup is as follows: Modem plugged into router. Router plugged in to Linksys 5 port hub. Then 50 foot cable with switch wired in between hub and Xbox. Try getting a friend to do a private match with you and see if your setup is correct. I would recommend switching the the lag switch to where one end is plugged into 10/100 hub and one end into the Xbox. Let me know if that helps. If not I will try to record a video and explain it better.

its all set up correctly and it does work ive used it before when i was able to get host (private, player, and wager) but i cant get host anymore it was luck and not often. once i get host its usually easy to keep it but i cant get it. switch works fine and i have no modem. its just internet antenna on roof, router, lag switch, 5-port splitter, xbox. im not sure why it freezes but i play it out it always ends in awating connection 3 or 2 but never host??

Put your cable with the lag switch in between the Xbox and the 5 port splitter and be sure when plugging in from the 5 port hub not to use number one out but 2 or 3. Try that out if you can real quick and let me know if it works.

modem>router>Lagswitch>switch box> Ethernet cable> xbox/Ps3. thats how mine is setup. so for u xbox users just mess around with ur connection settings.
