Im so confused. What do you mean by its possible to remove your real name? You were always able to change your name in account settings. Whatever you have it set to, it shows that everywhere. Like right now, I have mine set to "David The Savage".

Yes, your name is David The Savage but that is your "real name", not your actual PSN ID. I somehow managed to get my real name removed, and now it just shows my PSN ID.

I'm pretty sure in your privacy setting, you can choose who see's your real name. As long as all your friends are just friends added through the "Add Friend", than they'll see your PSN ID. Your friends will only be able to view your real name if you request it or in setting if you selected "Friends" instead of "Close Friends".
