(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); i bought my ipod touch after the 3rd gen came out, online it says 3rd gen is only 32 and 64gb, mine is 8gb, im not sure if its 3rg or 2nd gen as its only 8gb, also with the 4.0 firmware, the 3rd gen should be able to change home screen background but i cant for some reason. how could u tell what gen it is???

Hook it up to your computer. Go to itunes. Go to where you synce all your stuff. But dont sync. A big picture of your ipod will be right there with the bar telling how much GB you have left. Or you can get the ipod box and look at your manual thing.

the 8gb 3rd gen ipod touch is actually a 2nd gen left over model that came with whatever firmware/software the 32/64gb models came with.

its pretty much a scam, because you end up having to spend $100 more, i wish they still made the 16gb models
