this works for the following
iPhone 2G
iPhone 3G
iPhone 3G[S] *conditions apply
iPod Touch 1G
iPod Touch 2G
iPod Touch 3G - running 3.1.2

check the site more info there its the true ih8sn0w Dev members site

jailbreakme.com works on 4.0.1 or earlier

Yes this works I did this yesterday on my Touch 2G. You may experience some problems such as the nasty boot loop like I had.
