I decided to do a restore and it backed everything up as usual but then when i went to sync again all my music and video had gone. I deleted all the old music files because i thought itunes had them, is there any way to get the music back or an ipod touch recovery tool

I dont believe there is.. Sad to say I think you have put everything back on manually my friend.

Ah well, thats gonna be a couple of hours of my life wasted
