have you installed limerain,redsnow,ect, and it crashed well that happened to me ,first your gona have to download redsnow 0.9.6b4 and iphone upadate depending on which one you have, i have 4.2.1 so i would search 4.2.1 iphone download in google and download it,(dont worry if itunes does not detect your iphone/ipod ect,just make sure its connected),click browse and look for the update you downloaded to your pc,(it will say ipws comfirmed click next it will load dont worry, check install cydia(dont worry about oh this is not a fix this is a jailbreak,because this is really a fix once done) click next and it will say make sure your divice is turned off(this is the tricky part) your gona have to be quick, you will then have to hold the power+home and once it turns off click next right away in redsnow (make sure you click it right away because other wise its gona turn off and turn back on and go back to the apple icon), once your done follow the regular rules that go with jailbreaking your iphone like (hold the power=home down ten seconds, and then realease the power but keep pressing the home button until a white screen in your iphone pups up) then from there you can just let go(it will turn back on with pinapple but dont get to happy because this doesnt mean it still works)slide the screen if you want to, now your iphone detects itunes hich is good, open itunes click on your iphone in itunes example(Reapers Iphone) do not click restore or update because it wont work,instead we have to enter recovery mode, so once you opened itunes and click on your iphone enter recovery mode by holding the power+home until you here your windows 7 error, or in any other pc(dont worry if you dont hear a error instead then just hold it for 10 seconds and keep holding it until a menu pops up)if you still have windows 7 hold it till you her the error, then hold it till you hear a second error, follow the steps and youll have the choice to restore your phone as a new phone once it has been restored it will work!!
