When you were jail broken did you have those apps hidden? Sometimes when you restore little remnants still stay. Which iPhone or iPod touch do you have? I'll get you the firmware.

no i did not have any of the apps hidden & no one else goes onto my itouch besides me. i have the 4th gen itouch

download iFile from Cydia and then go to application in the main folder. search for MobileMusicPlayer.app and Appstore.app.
if one or two are missing, yes, you have to restore the ipod.
Restore the ipod with tinyumbrella if you want to restore to the same firmware (4.1).
