More than that, it won't turn on either, it isn't in DFU mode either.

So I went to connect to the computer, and that confirmed it wasn't in DFU mode, but it wouldn't connect either or charge.

I tried to put it into DFU mode, the standard way, hold sleep > hold sleep + home 10-15 sec > release sleep + hold home still.

Wouldn't go into DFU or be recognized by my computer still.

Any way to fix this without getting it serviced or buying a new one?

Is it jailbroken? Try 2 jailbreak it again wit greenpoison

Its probably still in DFU Mode if the screen is black. Just run Green Poison again and it will take it out of DFU. If the iPod is working then its semi-bricked meaning no charging or USB connectivity

It's not in DFU mode.

I tried greenpoison again, and to no prevail.

Still a black screen.

and yes, it was jailbroken.

The same old post... Problems with 4.2.1...

Best thing I can advise; is to download iReb 2.0 & then that will basically force your device into DFU mode ready for CFW or iOS. Then you can re-jailbreak with a better jailbreak..
