May 7, 2009 - Apple has sent out a memo to all authorized developers of the iPhone/iPod Touch platform, informing them that, starting today, if their programs don't work with the upcoming 3.0 firmware, Apple will not approve them.
The company also informed the developers in this memo that, while existing, released product should work fine with 3.0 right now, if incompatibility issues appear in those programs, the applications will be pulled from the App Store until the issues are resolved.
This is in anticipation of Version 3.0's release, expected this June. Version 3.0 has been in beta test with developers since the end of March. Apple released the fifth update today.
