Post: iPhone 4 Back Replacement Tut

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have recently dropped my iPhone 4 without my Otterbox and the back cracked and chipped of unfortunately. So here is a tut for you guys on How-To replace it!

    1) iPhone 4

    1) Panel replacement

    1) Philips #00 Screwdriver

First off before we start make sure you TURN OFF[/u] your iPhone!

Now that our iPhone is off lets begin removing that panel...

    Remove the two 3.6 mm Phillips screws next to your dock connector

Now that we have the Phillips screws removed, lets go ahead and prepare to take off the panel.
    Slide the panel to the top of your phone. It should slide roughly a mm or 2.

Finally, lets get the panel off.
    Just pull the panel gently from the phone.

Finally! You have successfully removed the cracked/chipped or broken panel from your iPhone 4! All you have to do is repeat the steps in reverse in order to put on your replacement!

You know how to remove the front one? I need to remove it to change the color.

Not sure, I can play around with it though. I'll update the thread once I figure that one out.. I'm sure its the same way though, except you might need to unplug the LCD screen.

No problem Cool Man (aka Tustin) I thought I'd make a write up about it. I'm working on the front for the other guy. I'm surprised Apple made it where people can replace the back panel without voiding their warranty, so kudos to Steve Jobs on that :y:

Haha yea, when I first took mine apart I was thinking that I'd have to go through a ton of work in order to replace the back panel lol

Okay from what I've gotten and tinkered with is that you will most likely have to complete take everything out of your phone. I know you could use a suction cup on the 3's but I doubt it would work with the 4's.

I'm about to do this so i can put a red back on mine. Already ordered the back from ebay.
