Rumors of late have suggested that Intel is looking to take advantage of the fallout between Apple and Samsung to swoop in and sign deals to manufacturer Apple's mobile processors.
Intel has said that it would consider making chips for rivals even if they were based on a competing architecture although the later would trigger "in-depth discussion", according to Reuters.Intel has honed its proprietary architecture over decades to design powerful processors that now run 80 percent of the world's personal computers.
