(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); About 1 year ago, Apple released it's very own iPhone 4, with retina display, a 5 megapixel camera with 720p video, and iOS 4. Almost every single iPhone model was released in June, along with a new iOS. Unfortunately, this year Apple didn't release it's iPhone 5/4S yet. There have been many rumors flying all over the internet, and here is what we can conclude.

The Name
Apple has been pretty consistent so far with the name for the iPhone (the original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4). It's likely for the iPhone to be named iPhone 4S because of the consistency Apple makes with it's names, but I think it'll be called the iPhone 5 because of the new iOS 5 which will be released this fall.

Release Date
Since the rumored phone wasn't released in June, just like the usual schedule, tech blogs and other websites are reporting it can be announced "any day now".

The Hardware
Rumors have it that the next iPhone is going to be a very minor upgrade. I would expect Apple to make kind of a big step-up. New Android phones these days have dual-core processors that are clocked at 1.2 GHz and an 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and 1080p video recording. I would at least expect the A5 Chip to be in the specs list somewhere. The phone is expected to have a screen that goes from edge-to-edge, and is also to be expected thinner and lighter. But this may be false. Remember the 3GS? It was exactly the same phone as the iPhone 3G, just faster and with a video camera. Other than that, on the outside it was the same thickness, same weight, and the design was not different either.

LTE and NFC are a possibility. Verizon didn't make any encouraging statement about this, but the CFO of the company did mention a "global device".

Carriers
AT&T and Verizon have already made it on the list. Since there are already two carriers, why not add Sprint? Sprint is expected to be next in line for the new iPhone. T-Mobile is also a possibility, but due to some recent events, it may not.

Rumor Roundup
So the next iPhone, whether it is the 4S or the 5, will not be that big of an upgrade from the iPhone 4. It could be announced any day now, and can be on new carriers as well.

i heard rumors of October announce and November release... if so i should be able to get an upgrade deal on my current iphone 4 as it ends November... so i probably will buy it yeah
