Post: Need help with iPod 2G Jailbroken

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Okay guys... my mom decided to give me her iPod 2G today...
=D
I have a jailbroken one but she has an iPhone so she wants to give me hers Happy
It is stuck in a boot loop...
If i try to restore i get an error..
"Your device is not eligible for the requested build"

Help is greatly appresciated.. Happy

Added info:It's on 3.1.3 i think..

Update: try to restore to the last firmware maybe it's because you want to restore to a lower firmware than 4.2.1

So your iPod touch 2g was already jailbroken? if yes then do this:

Go on your computer to this directory: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\ and open the "hosts" file as administrator and add at the end of the file

Then put your device to dfu mode and restore it and it will restore to 4.2.1 and then just jailbreak with greenpois0n

I've already edited my hosts file...Still getting an error.. by the way, not looking to re-jailbreak.

Hm. Try restoring from a different computer.

Also, what version of iTunes do you have?

all you need to do is download blackrain (out-dated jailbreak) and when it is stuck just press let it rain! hope i helped.Smile

It's okay.. I have fixed it, just used iReb on a virtual machine and TinyUmbrella :y:
