Yesterday i0nic, the iOS security expert that provided an untethered exploit for Redsn0w from iOS 4.2.1-4.3.3, You must login or register to view this content.. And earlier today, i0nic informed us of some more bad news about iOS 4.3.4:

This of course means that the iOS hackers/security experts will have to come up with a different way to exploit firmwares in the future. And in addition to that, Apple will start shipping iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches with iOS 4.3.4 and that means that the people who buy those devices won’t be able to have an untethered Jailbreak anytime soon.

You can always downgrade. The newer firmwares suck anyway.

Not if you buy a newer device with 4.3.4 already installed.

Apple will now ship out iDevices with 4.3.4.

I realize this, but it doesn't mater what firmware you're on, you can still downgrade if you have the firmware. All you have to do, is hold shift and click restore. Not that hard, nor has it ever been. And if they magically disable this function in iTunes, which the function is controlled in, you can just download an earlier version of iTunes. But, regardless of what they ship with, you can always downgrade.

The following user thanked Kai.A for this useful post:

The following user groaned Kai.A for this awful post:

This is where you're wrong. Newer bootrom devices need SHSH blobs saved to downgrade. To get SHSH blobs, you have to be jailbroken on that iOS, and be able to save the blobs. Without the blobs, you cannot downgrade.

This means, if you have never been jailbroken on anything lower than 4.3.4, and don't have any SHSH Blobs saved, you cannot downgrade.

You're a attempt to look like you know what you're talking about fails, please try again.

Samberg's right, you can't downgrade without SHSH blobs, which are saved upon accessing Cydia, meaning you have to jailbreak on a lower firmware first. Learn iDevices before taking like you know all about them.

Well, I didn't know this cause I don't upgrade to shitty firmwares. My bad, you don't have to get all defensive.

I don't upgrade to them either, people who do are idiots in my mind, and people who do without saving SHSH blobs are bigger idiots.
