The battery drain problem in the iPhone 4S has been a headache for the iPhone fans since the day Apple released there last iPhone in October. Many attempts were made by Apple to fix the problem. An upgrade to the firmware of the phone was released but it failed to fix the problem leaving the users disheartened.

A tweak by the name Battery Fix For iOS 5 was released on Cydia for a price of 4.99 $. Nearly everyone saw the tweak circling over the internet in the past few days. However, according to recent news that tweak has been proven FAKE.

Two hackers Dustin Howett and Sam Bingner found out that the tweak was nothing but pointless lines of code. They further explained: "There has been a lot of hype recently about a 4S 'Battery Fix' - DHowett found that all it does is replace

“System/Library/CoreServices/powerd.bundle/com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist”

I looked for any possible impact of this. While this sounds good. We’re changing the power settings right? The reality is that it does absolutely nothing."

It is now advised that users shouldn’t install any random tweaks and apps from unproven Cydia Repos.
