Electronic Arts has pulled Battlefield 3: Aftershock from the App Store.

Released earlier this month, Battlefield 3: Aftershock was a free download sponsored by military film Act of Valor. The multiplayer-only release featured one map and four weapons. The game received an average rating of 2.5 stars from customers, including complaints about its controls, an inability to connect to multiplayer matches and other issues.

After an influx of negative reviews, EA has removed the game and released the following statement:
"EA Mobile is committed to delivering mobile entertainment experiences that are on par with the content and quality users have come toexpect from their favorite EA gaming brands. To this end, we have decided to remove Battlefield 3: Aftershock from the App Store and are currently re-evaluating the app in response to the consumer feedback we've received. We thank all the fans who have downloaded the game to date."
A more comprehensive Battlefield 3 game is still set to hit the App Store later this year.

I tired out the original and it wasn't up to standard at all. Hopefully EA's next attempt will be much better.
