Apple, however, is committed to delivering a productive and efficient Maps application and has assigned a large team to deal with inaccuracies. Large errors have been spotted and reported by proactive users. Missing roads and incorrect points of interest are among some of the many problems Apple has begun to amend.

Apple has reportedly been updating maps from all around the world, fixing errors which make the app unreliable. This process will take some time and although there hasn't been any major improvements to date, it's a promising sign that Apple is repairing the Maps app. Currently, it may be worth using Google Maps from your iOS 6 device's browser (such as Safari), or downloading an alternative app.
