Apple’s iPhone 5 which recently made its debut in the market has got users across the world waiting in anticipation for a jailbroken release; well, there already is one, unavailable for people to use as it’s simply too good to have! The hackers that made the jailbroke are working hard to release another one just so they don’t leave people in the mist; while they still enjoy their top notch jailbroken devices recently discovered.

Well, the reason is for it being so good is because of a bug that contributes to functional jailbroken devices. Since the hackers have had a tedious journey trying to find a top-notch jailbroke; they don’t want to release it for Apple to learn of the exploit and create a patch. Also, iOS is also on the verge of 6.0.1 from problems faced with it before.

The news of a new exploit was confirmed early by David Wang. (He’s just one of the many hackers working to find new exploits for the devices.) David stated,

“The fact is, I have an untethered iOS 6.0.2 JB running on my iPhone 5 right now. This vulnerability is nice because it lets us see what’s going on,” David also says, “We need to be able to look at the code we’re trying to change – get a dump of it. Otherwise, we’re basically working on things in the dark.”

Hackers for this jailbroke may have to face some problems during the release of this to the public. Their current exploit will have to be ‘burned’. So this great bug could see a downfall on their side. However, releasing this exploit isn’t quite what they want to do yet; as with the current bugs faced, progress could go further since 4 bugs have been discovered on the iPhone 5, which was during the time that the post had been written. So if the public just wait it out, they’ll be able to find more to release and exploits could be coming our way as they progress further into a long journey. We also know they are making phenomenal progress because only a couple of weeks ago they found many vulnerabilities in the space of a couple of days. From the way it’s going, they’ll have to keep working to find more bugs and exploits as over the past week, David did say, “iOS 6 has had significant security improvements. And iOS 6.1 also has even more improvements,” says Wang. “One of the things we’re having trouble with [on the iPhone 5] is the initial injection.”

Release dates could be sight from a recent conversation with David Wang. “So will end users ever be able to jailbreak the iPhone 5, then?”” Yes”, Wang says. “This year?” Well, he sure hopes so. Hopefully we’ll be receiving the new exploit sometime before Apple release another iPhone into the franchise.

Beyond the current exploit though, hackers are looking at the current state of the iOS jailbreak scene and are curious to know what the demand for jailbroken devices are. Statics show that there many people are still waiting in anticipation for new releases to come around. People running Cydia remains pretty massive; as long as that maintains, hackers can find the motivation to venture on.

Well, since there’s going to be a massive release soon, I highly doubt the demand for jailbreaking new devices is ever going to subside entirely; plus, hackers are always going to be looking for a new challenge. Users will always want something new, but with the release of this, could it hold back the popular demand while hackers work on a larger project?
