Is this legit? do you know if you need a developer UDID for this? I'd be interested in testing it out, but I don't really want to brick my phone.

its a really late response but still applies to the new ios 8 beta 4! the link I posted above does not need a udid if you do it correctly. The method to do this is posted on youtube. search for updating to ios8 without udid. it does not cost any money because you are using a trick on iTunes. msg for any questions
