sound does not need to be precached the things that do need to be precached are

- Turrets
- Weapons
- Materials
- Models
- Effects

Not all sounds work.

You need to find ones that do.

And you could be using a function wrong aswell.

One sound I know works is the grenade explode sound. and a few others I cant remember right now

You either put an invalid sound name in or the sound is playing but it is actually very quiet, remember lots of sounds work together in order for you to make sense of what they are in the game, some sounds are just like dust moving with the wind and things like that :p
