His stats are pretty woeful but he only ever plays with me and my friends and usually gets above 30 rounds most games. I play solo a lot and play with randoms which I'm assuming effects my chances of achieving maximum rank.

I think this will clear up a few theories stating that K/D matters. I'm not sure if you can check his stats yourself but his gamertag is 'Senshoku'.

Shotguns? He has a 55KDR which is meh.

Yeah he has shotguns and blue eyes. That's my point, he has really bad stats yet because he gets to high rounds he is the highest rank I assume.

All I'm doing now myself is playing solo, 31,41,39 2500 avg kills.
Given up playing with mates to be honest, 4 man, 3 man takes too long and solo is better for focusing on yourself.
