They are well written, but seem to be written for people who have a BIT of knowledge on them matter. I have none. So if someone could help me out and give me a step by step (for noobs) tutorial on how I can make things like this work;

Don't worry buddy, everything is hard when your doing it for the first time. It was hard for me when i was doing the same as you . Go on youtube and search up MzBomb3rZz. I followed most of his tutorials that helped me so much and can help you to! . Look at his video list till you found the one you need. Step by step like you said. I checked out the channel and it seems very useful, however it doesn't tell me how to downgrade my 4.60 OFW to 3.55 OFW so I can jailbreak it. I have a fat PS3.

Oh you want do downgrade your ps3? Did you try searching it on youtube "How to downgrade your ps3 from 4.60 OFW to 3.55 OFW"? It might be hard to find since its a new update you might have to wait awhile.

Yes, I've searched it. I need to drop from 4.60 to 3.55 in order to install a CFW and run mods, right? I'm not sure, but I think that's how it works. I just need to downgrade, then add a CFW and follow the tutorials on that YouTube channel.

To be able to use that tool you have to have a CFW PS3 you can buy one off of ebay or you can pay someone to downgrade it if it can be. Once you get a PS3 on 3.55 OFW just install 3.55 CFW then you can go to higher CFW you can pretty much do what you want from their install consolecontrol and use all CEX/DEX Tools

So there is no way other than buying a new one or paying someone to do it for me? I'd like to be able to downgrade myself. If others can do it for me, there MUST be a way I can do it for myself. Thank you everyone for the helpful responses!

you can not downgrade your ps3 without an e3 flasher which you need to buy and you need a small amount of knowledge to install it inside of your ps3 on the mother board-----or like a few have said already you can get somebody to do it for you ---IS IT WORTH IT ?----well it depends on what you want to do ----
