Right, now i see a sticky at the top telling you to put your PS3 into DMZ, well that doesn't almost work for every router.
Now i fixed mine simply this morning by doing this
go to CMD and type 'ipconfig'
where it says 'default gateway' note that ip down.
open another CMD and type telnet then the ip of default gateway
input your username and password
(default is normally Admin and blank, or Admin and the serial number of your router)
now type this command

service system ifadd name=PING_RESPONDER group=wan
then type saveall
and close the window
now my cod 4 finds the games settings instantly!
So step by step
1. start > run > CMD
2. type ipconfig
3. note down default gateway ip (normally 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254)
4. now type telnet *ip here*
5. enter usename and password
6. type the following command " service system ifadd name=PING_RESPONDER group=wan "
7. type saveall then close the window, and check your game!
