well i figured it out a little while ago and he had the right idea, but in the wrong direction

you know the set gpad_sticksConfig "type" ??

you can use that in a bind to create more space and set different menus on different controls!!

u can use that to make mods like cod5 zombies
were diff button layout can have different modz!!

next release is just the button binds (2 new)

button_start
button_x
button_a
button_y
button_b
button_ltrig
button_rtrig
button_lshldr
button_rshldr
dpad_up
dpad_down
dpad_left
dpad_right

NEW:
gpad_up
gpad_down
gpad_left
gpad_right
( when u walk in that direction )

button_rstick ( melee )
button_lstick ( sprint )

That's old and I posted a thread a long time ago about how you can use set gpad_buttonsconfig to execute commands

button_rstick and button_lstick were posted in TONS tut...i think....

this old thing is old, theres more gpdad.
you can do it with every layout, so you can have at least 4 diffrent things.
