This is my "Review" on Elevator glitches on call of duty 4. they were found on PC but also work on console but it is extremely hard. The reason they are extremely hard is complicated to explain but i will try my best to explain it... The base of the player is made up of an even number of "pixels". For demonstrative purposes lets say they are made up of two. The ledges are all made up of tiny "pixels" so the ratio between the player and ledge is 2:1. in order to accomplish an elevator glitch you must get one(half) "pixel" of the player on the ledge and one(other half) "pixel" in mid air. This seems easy but really its nearly impossible.
On ambush, you jump crouch into the ledge and because your holding forward you always hit the wall. Once you hit the wall you will not be able to do the elevator glitch. A good strategy that might help you is jump crouch and slightly push forward but make sure you dont hit the end of the wall. once you do this slowly move backwards while pressing b. in reality you only need to press b once.(at the very start of your fall).
the reason you couldnt do the elevator glitches before was because you didnt know that hitting the wall aligns you perfectly so your whole body falls at the same time. but now you do so no more excuses!
Elevator glitches can appear anywhere where there is a ledge and you can crouch in it but cant stand up...
i had more to type but i forgot everything i wanted to say so umm speculate on this and discuss...
