Well let me start of by saying ive been reading many many and i mean many posts all over the internet regarding patch making tuts.

I admire all of you who make patches and find codes.

I AM ABSOLUTELY EXHAUSTED!!! I DONT WANT TO LEECH but tried editing a few patches to get the hang of it and try to comprehend how you guys do it.

For the life of me I have failed and error countless times on making a patch. you google for help and you get flooded with tutorials that differ and many times contradict from thread to thread. then you find theres FF.viewer but they dont tell you its for xbox patches only. you download ps3 ff. editor and follow the instructions and some patches error when opening or cant see the raw files

To keep this Thread small and to the point I am asking for the community's help and act as a voice for us beginners.

Here are a few of the questions I have encountered while burning my brain trying to make my patch.

Questions:

1.what tools do you use to make/edit a patch for COD4 on PS3.

3.after having the exact tools that I would need. Please guide us through step by step.

2.how do I make a patch if I am always getting a warning message about changing file size. I noticed some of the community's patches differ in size.

5.Where and how does one know where to even began adding/editing/deleting in the gsc's

4. using HEX editor. once patch is decompress put the specific GSC. in HEX editor selected the offsets, saving it and editing in Notepad ++ . I am having trouble correctly placing the edited _weapons.gsc back in to the .dat file.

conclusion

biggest problems im having are properly copying and pasting the gsc's back in .DAT file and having to literally count bytes to avoid getting a size error.

to the moderators my apologies if i mistakenly started this thread in the wrong place thought this is where i could get the most help from the pros here.

to everyone else who takes a few seconds to help i greatly appreciate whatever input you may have.
thanks.
