Very weird. I had this problem today actually. All i did was reset the system and it worked fine after.

I tried clean CD but its same thing, I give my Cod4 to my friend and its work on his ps3.
Maybe if i do complete format, you think it will solve the problem, because its take age 9hours for format :\
