anyways i want to extend my knowledge of hacking, first of all is there anyway i can change my button layout and sensitivity without deactiviating the hack because I'm not used to the default button layout and I prefer tactical, so is it possible for me to change the button layout without deactiviating the hack?

Next i dont quite get how people come up with hacks, for example

where does the person get the words "default_xboxlive" and how does he know what it does. It doesn't even make sense what does the words "default_xboxlive" have to do with changing game modes into 18 players. I mean where did he come up with it, did he just randomly type those words in and it turned out to be a hack. So say I'm a hacker and I open the GPAD0_CM folder what would be the first thing I would do to make a hack?

Also why is it from all the hacks I've tried you can only change 2 parts of the coding

are these the only 2 codes you can modify for hacks? what happens if you mess around with the numbers in the CM folder or the MP folder.

Well firstly the "default_xboxlive" is a cfg file. These were first discovered when people decompiled the PC version and found a list of configs. Now each cfg file contains a set of commands that the game reads so in "default_xboxlive" for example, there is a code to set the max number of players to 18. And that's also why "xbox_live" can be placed in the buttonsConfig or sticksConfig, because the game recognises it as a button layout- which it is, just the default one, but with extra features that change the game. Messing around with the other numbers in the GPAD0_CM file will only change the settings of look sensitivity and brightness- they won't produce hacks.

The downside to cfg hacking is that many people have tested them extensively and very few produce useful hacks. The ones that do are widely published already. Adrianeitor has a thread on the subject, so it might be worth taking a look there: You must login or register to view this content.

You could try changing the stickConfig to be the hack and then have the buttons as tactical, but this would mean you could only have one hack at a time, I'm not sure if this would work 100% because I only usually change he buttonsConfig. Test it and see
