Post: Jump Elevator + Ambush Elevator Question
10-23-2009, 11:25 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I've seen tons of videos of people doing the "Out of Ambush Elevator", using the window, but I've no clue how to actually do it. I've tried mimicing the videos I see, backing up slowly and hitting Stand just as I fall, but can never hit it.

Can someone like fully explain how that one works, and the best way to do it?

And my other question is, how exactly do jump elevators work, and how do you properly position yourself for them. I seen one in Pipeline that looked good, and one in Downpour, but can't hit either of them because I just really don't understand how exactly they work.

I can get the regular elevators fine, its just these 2 types that I'm having trouble doing with any kind of success.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I don't know how to do the Ambush one personally, but if you just keep backing up and rapidly tapping O you should eventually get it Smile

Jump elevators you should treat like other elevators, if you jump and don't hit your head, just keep moving along until you do, then shorten your angle...etc etc then eventually you'll have to jump then double crouch really fast (using 2 hards helps) and voila, you are floating up, but the point you have to jump is very specific like all the other elevators.

I have to do a Double Crouch when I do the jump elevators? I wasn't aware of that, everyone else just said to jump when you do them. That should make doing them a bit easier then when I try, since I know of 2 spots I want to try them at (Pipeline and Downpour at least).

Who ever told you that is an idiot, the changing stance is what makes the elevators possible xD

I've been messing with the Ambush one for a while, and I still can't get it. I dunno whats wrong, but everytime I try, my character just falls to the ground. I've tried rapidly pressing it as fast as I can while I back up, and that doesn't even work.

Any ideas how long it usually takes someone to get it? I can't see myself sitting here for 10 minutes straight trying this one every single time I want to do it. I wish it was like the other Elevators, where I can usually hit them within a minute or 2.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry for a double post (if 24+ hours counts), but I had another question regarding Jump Elevators:

How do you know when you're in the right spot? With a regular elevator, it just kind of happens. But with a Jump elevator, do you want to be in a spot where you hit your head on the object, or should you try it where you're clear of the object and can jump?

In the videos I've seen, it just shows someone jumping a few different times, but never shows if they are jumping at the point where they hit their head, or where their head is clear.

I've found a few good Jump Elevators, but a lack of knowledge is keeping me from hitting them, so any help you can provide is appreciated.

Next time please edit your original post i know it wasn't intentional Winky Winky

With jump elevators it's the same as regular ones, you have to jump and crouch in the spot between hitting your head and missing it, if you just keep jump crouch standing you will eventually get there, i tend to go into prone to line up because you move less Smile

Does it usually take a few tries even in the correct spot? On some videos, while in the correct spot, I see the person having to do it a few times. So should I just do the Jump/Crouch thing a few times in each spot to be sure?

Thanks for the help so far, its starting to make it a bit clearer. The only reason I didn't edit my post last time btw, was because I figured if I edited it, no one would know, and wouldn't come checking back to see that I added anything.

It's my job as a mod to check Winky Winky And yeah, sometimes you don't crouch fast enough so trying it a few times may help and i tend to use my left hand to press X and right hand to double tap O Smile
