Black ops 2 will have a branching campaign. For the first time in Call of Duty,
a player's decisions will effect the entire path of the story.
Bringing you another Black Ops 2 campaign leak from the July issue of GamesMaaster UK.
This time we focus on the all new innovative campaign. For the first time, the campaign won't follow a linear storyline.
The game will feature a branching mission structure, like role-playing games such as Skyrim.
It works like this:
when you're tasked with protecting someone you might succeed or fail.
Your outcome will determine a specific path in which some people may live and others could die.
Both your choices and gun-skill will set you on a custom path with drastically different outcomes hinging on your play style.
You will be given the option to chose between entire missions.
At various points in the campaign you'll get to handpick 'Strke Force' operations,
that are unlike anything you've played in a Call of Duty game before.
They take place in open-world maps, and you'll be timed.
You will be tasked with capturing and controlling critical points on a map to trigger plot events.
They are somewhat like an offline game of Domination.
During these Strike Force levels you will be free to leap out of the body of the main Character and assume control of any friendly drone or soldier on the map.
The D-Pad will allow you to switch between soldiers, land drones, CLAWs and quadrotors.
If you enjoy a more tactical approach you can opt to go into 'Overwatch mode'. This viewpoint lets you direct soldiers, robots and drones to complete the objective.
It will be possible to move units around like you're playing Command & conquer.
sounds cool...
BUT....
most of the times statements like this are so blown out of proportion.
not saying that it is, but it could be.
maybe all that is for ONE mission only.
How many different branches or paths are they thinking of implementing into the campaign? Or will the campaign have a set ending and the different branches chosen all lead to the same conclusion, or "summit".
