Does or will this affect bo2!?!
Heres the latest ive found;
We have just booted up our PlayStation 3 after hearing rumours that there’s a firmware update, which revealed Sony PS3 system update 4.40 is live for download right now. The only problems we have seen so far are with details, you won’t find any firmware patch notes or a list with details of what changes were made during PS3 update 4.40.
The difference with this firmware update to a few others is the fact that it’s mandatory, so not only will you be installing an update that lacks any details, but also you have no choice and have to install if you wish to play online with PSN.
This silence from Sony before installing PS3 system update 4.40 is strange, and normally we’d see some details published on the official blog before the update goes live. This hasn’t happened and has left some gamers thinking there could be hidden features, or it is a rushed security update thanks to something happening behind the scenes.
For now, we will wait for Sony to provide further details about PS3 update 4.40 and if it is anything to do with hackers, a security breach, etc. Keep connected with In Entertainment, and when we get the full update notes they will be published here.
Sony PS3 system 4.40 Update: We have had a quick dig around for more information on and it seems that no keys are changed, even with the core. That would suggest this is not a security update and more of a console improvement, which some early rumours suggest OFW can be upgraded, PlayStation Store menu transition/Loading time has improved, Blu-ray seems to be pushing for a new update and system stability has been improved via packages.
