The setups in BO2 are great, but sometimes they just don't work. I'll show you what I run and how it helps me be a bit better than what I already am.

Primary: SMG

SMGs are beast in BO2. In MW3, everyone ran ACR or MP7, but otherwise ran the assault class. In BO2, you can use any SMG and get any scorestreak you want with it pretty easily. The high fire rate combined with quick reload time and an increase in range and hip fire spread make SMGs good in close-medium range combat. That's basically most the firefights in BO2. I prefer the MSMC simply because it has a nice hip fire spread and fast reloading time, yet has a nice range and damage dropoff.

Attachments: Quickdraw, Suppressor (Primary Gunfighter Wildcard: Fast Mags)

The attachments I use with my MSMC or any SMG is quickdraw, suppressor, and fast mags.

Quickdraw is really great, as It lets you aim down sights faster. Personally, the MSMC has an average iron sight for ADS, but blurs the target at ranges, which makes it harder to focus in on them. Quickdraw helps me because I can aim down my sights faster than normal, thus giving me more time to correct my aim error. It will help you in a lot of medium range firefights.

Suppressor is a no-brainer. No one wants to show up as a huge red dot on the enemy's mini-map. Suppressor silences the sound of the gun, so the enemy can't see you on their mini-map nor hear you. Another perk is that it makes the gun have no muzzle flash. This will help a lot when ADS, as the sights are clear of bright flashes when you are firing the gun. However, the only disadvantage is a slight drop in the damage of the weapon. However, the pros outweigh the cons here.

(Optional: Fast Mags) Here it's a personal preference. I go with fast mags as it is a really quick reload. I am a PARANOID PARROT that reloads after every kill. (You don't wanna be me!) Combining this with the fast reload of SMGs makes me feel like reloading's a breeze. However, others might use extended mags. This is because due to the high fire rate of SMGs, people lose bullets faster, and instead of having to reload after every kill, they take their time and reload if necessary. It makes sense, because if you go into a enemy stronghold, for example, then you want the extra bullets to kill more enemies per mag. However, this is a personal preference.

Secondary: None

I don't run secondaries, as I believe that they waste points. However, you can use secondaries and they are more powerful than in the last games. If I did use a secondary, I'd probably use the B23R or the KAP-40, simply because of their high fire rate. They drop people faster than some primaries. However, I don't use a secondary, so I can use the point for a wildcard.

Perks: Hardline, Toughness, Engineer (pretty good perks)

Perk 1: Hardline
Hardline is a really good perk which reduces Scorestreak points by 20%. At the low end of the scorestreaks, that may not sound like a lot, but at the higher end, that could mean a reduction in 2 or 3 kills to get said scorestreak. Overall, it is a great perk that helps you overall into getting scorestreaks.

Perk 2: Toughness
Toughness is one of the best perks in BO2. Toughness basically reduces flinch when taking bullet fire. This means that at firefights, you have less flinch than normal, making it easier to aim at the enemy and kill him. I thank Toughness for giving me at least 80% of my overall kills.

Perk 3: Engineer
Now you may be thinking, why use Engineer? Why not Dexterity? Well, I believe that Engineer is the most underrated perk in
the game. Engineer is basically Sitrep from MW3. You see enmy equipment through walls and it's in red. Engineer is a good teamplay perk as you can warn you team about bouncing betties, claymores, and riot shields. It can also help you locate sentries and guardians that are so pesky. Overall, this perk gives me some of the most points just by finding enemy equipment and destroying it.

Tactical: EMP Grenades
The EMP Grenades are the best tacticals in BO2. These grenades have a huge effect area, and they disable enemies from calling in scorestreaks for some seconds, that can be very game-changing. These grenades also take out enemy equipment and scrap sentries/guardians in 1 grenade, and can take out an AGR in 2 grenades. Combining this with Engineer will make you dominate enemy equipment.

Lethal: (Optional: C4)
I don't run lethals anymore, simply because they don't promise or offer me many kills. However, I do sometimes use the C4. The good thing about C4 is that it is great for clearing out camper rooms. It also has a good damage area, but it doesn't get me as many points as my EMP grenades.

Scorestreaks: (Varies on game mode)

The scorestreaks are a huge part of BO2. Instead of killstreaks, you get score from capturing flags, or destroying equipment that help in your scorestreak count. However, being the noob I already am, I stick to the low- medium end of the scorestreak spectrum. This means I can range from a UAV-Warthog. The game mode is especially important, too. In Search and Destroy, you don't want to be using a Swarm setup. You might rather use a UAV-Hunter Killer or something along those lines. In Kill Confirmed or Hardpoint, you might rather use Swarm or Lodestar or anything like that. What I'm trying to say here is, the scorestreaks here will vary depending on you playstyle and the game mode.

I hope this thread helped you out on class setups in BO2. This is personally what I use, and it helps improve my game so much. Please leave a comment at the bottom or a rate to see if I should improve anything.

Have a good day and remember
