Activision is rumored to be planning an early April and early May release for "Call of Duty: Black Ops III's" next DLC pack, "Ignition." The company is expected to make an announcement during GDC 2016.

It seems like Activision is ready to take first-person shooters to the next level early this year. The entirety of "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" players have already gotten a chance to play the game's first DLC pack "Awakening" since earlier this month, and if rumors are to be believed, the second DLC pack, "Ignition," isn't too far behind.

Activision has yet to announce when players may expect the next batch of content to drop, and with this silence, noise created by rumors has emerged to fill the void.

In this case, the rumors suggest that the arrival of "Ignition" will come at some point next month. Specifically, PlayStation 4 players can expect to the pack to drop on April 5, while PC and Xbox One players can expect the DLC pack to drop one month later for their respective platforms on May 5.

It should be noted that the observed 30-day gap between release dates of the upcoming DLC mirrors what was seen for the "Awakening" DLC pack. In that case, it first released for the PlayStation 4 on Feb. 2 before coming to the PC and Xbox One on March 3.

As is with any rumor, this information should be taken with a grain of salt. However, there may be some validity behind the newest "Call of Duty" rumor. The author of the report claims to have accurately foretold the DLC release dates for previous "Call of Duty" games in the past, so at least he has that going for him.

Even if the rumor does turn out to be true down the line, we still don't know some key information about the DLC pack - namely the actual content. It's already been confirmed that the pack will introduce four new multiplayer maps and a new episode of the Zombies mode, just like in "Awakening," but further rumors suggest that the pack may re-introduce old maps from a previous title.

So when can fans expect to hear news from Activision itself? The announcement may come as early this week during Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2016, which lasts through Friday in San Francisco, Calif. The last time Activision announced a "Black Ops 3" DLC was at a PlayStation Event, so its not entirely out of the question to make another announcement at an event with a developer focus.
