Recently our very own Meagan VanBurkleo got a chance to You must login or register to view this content. at some of the explosive action in Treyarch's upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops. Now more details have emerged regarding the game's co-op and the main campaign.
According to You must login or register to view this content., the main campaign will strictly be a solo experience. Unique co-op modes will be separate.
"Single-player is the epic, cinematic, seat-of-your-pants thrill ride that you star in," said Mark Lamia, Treyarch studio head. "Then there's multiplayer, when you want to play competitive with your friends and really chisel and hone your skills and do that addictive experience. And then co-op is for when you want to have a blast with your friends, just sitting on the couch and having an awesome co-op experience. We're crafting unique co-op modes around that experience, but it is different than what people think."
Note he said "modes." Does this mean the co-op in Black Ops will take the World at War approach with a zombie bonus co-op mode? We'll have to wait and see.
When asked whether co-op would be similar to Modern Warfare 2's Spec Ops mode, Lamia simply replied that "it is different than Spec Ops." He simply stressed that these modes will be "awesome."
Does news that the co-op in Black Ops is substantially different than MW 2's Spec Ops come as relief or worry?

I Hope so.

At this point, I don't even mind if they have zombies or not. As long as they balance out the multiplayer and have a good quality campaign.
