Since the game I believe is based on flashbacks, maybe he got rid of the tattoo and added the SOG one, cuz in the second pic, he looks young and he looks older in the first pic, just a complete guess though

The second picture [Element 115] is younger [like Mr. Deagle said] because if you look in the first picture, the SOG is in a different place and he now has a USMC tattoo on his bicep.

Maybe he was apart of the element 115 zombie experiment, and he escaped from it and joined the SOG to fight against the people who tried to do it against him, just throwing it out there lol

just saying, if you look in the bottom one at his eye's he looks a little bit out of it to me, maybe brainwashed? or something and the 115 is like a brand over the tattoo that was already there, and he got out or whatever and got it removed then got SOG put over it(kind of like what Mr. Deagle said above)

plus in the top one he's got a USMC tattoo that he doesn't have in the bottom one
