Too many players run out of money and firepower because the higher levels require the use of traps, teleporting and upstepping your use of firepower...or so you thought!

Instead of wasting oodles of money on fishing in the box between rounds, consider settling for one readily-available wall weapon that you pass unfailingly on your survival loop, and another that typically plants the zombies with one shot. Both of the described weapons can be found on the wall and used effectively in the Pre-20 rounds...so unless you are doing something horribly wrong, one upgraded shotgun and one standard sub-machine gun should serve you really well.

The upgraded shotgun would obviously be used to clear a path for you when zombies are spawning ahead of your route, and the submachine gun can rack up mega points if you choose to wait until you are firing into a line of them. Going this route, you can plant zombies that are in your way, and allow the pursuing zombies to bunch up and be Share Bears with each bullet you fire into them. This will assure that instead of operating at a deficit of funds with each passing round, your bank of points is increasing as you run the survival loop.

Lets use the MP40 (Float Like a Butterfly) as an easy example:

It holds 180 rounds, and each hit scores you 10 points. That is 1800 points if you land each shot. If you wait until there are at least 3-5 zombies in a line, the bullet penetration is going to score you 30-50 points for each bullet that lands, earning you 5400-9000 points, PLUS another 60 points for each one you kill.

As the zombies get stronger, it takes more to bring them down. So your submachine gun will become a points collector, your upgraded weapon (Sting Like a Bee)an arse saver, and the traps will become your primary zombie killer.

Claymores, being a directional weapon, are awesome once you have zombies chasing you through a fatal funnel. Placing them anywhere else becomes a waste. There are plenty of hallways to place them strategically in, so think about this when you're between rounds. If there were more common names for the hallways, I'd list them for you. Most of the time, you'll be acting as bait for the claymore traps, so your skill in manuevering will determine how many your claymores get. Two suggestions:

The Hallway upstairs (With the Electric Trap in the Corridor)

and

Placing one right next to the power switch should get you more than a few if they are bunched up.

One thing I struggle with is how to make effective use of the Upgraded Crossbow when you are limited to only two weapons. If you plug a zombie with it, THAT zombie will stop in his tracks as the others bunch around him. The explosive tip will do collateral damage, but unless you have a Zeus Cannon, it is too risky to run up to the group and just blast them with a shotgun or anything else that I can think of. Maybe the Crossbow is just better-used as a replacement for the monkey bombs. Maybe...sticking a zombie with the crossbow and setting a claymore semi-close to the crowd would be effective?

I don't have all the answers, but doing these few things will get you as far as your skill to stick to the tactics will take you. If you do this well enough, you'll eventually get bored and turn off the game Smile

Oh, one last things...I'd appreciate some feedback on how you think the Cross Bow is most effectively used. There isn't a lot out there on it yet.

Problem rule #16?
use the cross bow right before the electric fence. That way no zombies go past the fence while you turn the fence on. Same tactic can be used with monkey bombs.
Gives you enough time to turn on the fence safely and get a head start on running. Or you can wait and rank up points on the zombies as they run through to the fence of death.
