If reports from G4 sources are to be believed, Singularity developer Raven Software is working on a "stealth-centric Bond game" (not to be confused with the unannounced Bond racer). Not only that, but the game has supposedly been put on hold so that Raven can create map packs for Treyarch-developed Call of Duty: Black Ops. Apparently, in the wake of Activision's troubles with (now former) Infinity Ward staff, the publisher is having to assign substitute developers to work on various components of the lucrative Call of Duty franchise.
While the situation sounds less than ideal for Raven, it beats the pretty heavy layoffs suffered by the studio last year. Now having too much work sounds like a good problem for Raven, especially in a still-ailing economy. People have reached out to Activision and asked them but Activision responded, "Activision does not comment on rumor and speculation." But I want to know what you guys think. I bought Singularity a while ago and I think it was an AWESOME game. Anyone who likes call of duty would enjoy it. But at the same time Im a little nervous with all the change in developers that Activision is bringing. as you guys know by now a company called Sledgehammer is working on Call of Duty 8, and now Raven Software working on DLC for BO. I think a reason for this is since Treyarch is working so much on Black Ops with constant updates almost every week. They feel if they had a company strictly working on the DLC alone it would have better results. I personally however would rather have Treyarch make the map pack, because on Cod WaW none of their map packs failed to impress me. Or at least I hope they let Treyarch make the new zombie maps. What do you guys think?
