Post: Nat type 3 problem

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have NAT type 3 on my ps3 network while I'm doing" Internet Connection Test". It says nat type 3 may restrict your chat or other sort of communication while playing online.

I have had this NAT ever since?

I didn't notice any communication problem while I'm talking to members of my party or the party Im in. If I did experience it, I just leave and rejoin, this happens to other as well so it's not a big deal.

What Im concerned is that, on lower right corner of black ops multiplayer menu it says your nat type may affect your matchmaking and says a similar notice while im in a party that one or more member in your party has a strict nat and will effect the matchmaking.

Im using Siemens Gigaset SE567 , and my ISP provider is TELUS (canada).

I think my speed is pretty decent:
You must login or register to view this content.

If someone is willing to help me through teamviewer, that'd be awesome. This way you can configure my router's setting.

Or please reply here with any bit of information that can help me.\

Solution:

After hours of researching, I found the solution.

Log into your router's configuration page and go into port forwarding.

Open the following port and nat type for black ops will be open even though it may say nat type 3 on your ps3 network setting.

You must login or register to view this content.

Usually when you enter ports on your router page, you enter it in the following format:
5223-5223
3074-3074
2005-2005
3074-3074
3075-3075
3478-3478

Hit apply everytime you enter the protocol ports.

Just try resetting your router.

What Moderate or Strict NATs essentially do is restrict you from playing w/ certain other players, Moderate slightly, Strict largely and Open not at all.

Apparently that router doesn't let you put it on other NAT types...

Rebooting, changing the setting back to default or resetting didn't or doesnt work for me.

I have read about bridging routers can help solve my problem but the thing is the 2nd router i have is also the same model lol. Will that work?

ok i no how to solve this problem

look first if u have NAT type 3 u cant join all ur friends u will get alot of error messages while joining which is really annoying

the sollution is here:

u go on ur router site official configuration site (depends on ur router, u can get the site from the company where u brought your connection from)

then u go on the UPNP configuration and u enable it (it will be disabled if u have NAT type 3)

once u enabled it just make a new connection on ur ps3

and there you go ull have NAT type 2 SmileSmile

hope this helped

Enabling UPNP , setting the firewall to low or off, exposing host in some routers may not work for certain routers for example siemens se567.You can try those settings but opening ports works the best.
