At the moment I am using 720p display settings on my tv. I used 720p so I can record and upload videos smoothly to youtube. But I have a couple of problems... :dingding:

1. 720p doesn't look good on my tv because of component cables.

2. When I use 1080i it has black horizontal lines on my videos.

3. If I'm using 1080i when recording, how do I interlace the video? would the result be good as "progressive" videos?

My coumputer isn't that very fast so I record on 7.0mb bit rate... :p

Just guessing up until I can think of something better, is IN SONY VEGAS if you run the VIDEO through that you can check "de interlace" when rendering and it will remove those lines.

At least I can fight
Play in 720p because the quality is almost the same or maybe better. Also, the 1080i files are outrageously huge.

Record with the program that came with the PVR dude. Change the settings so it's the max (13.5 mb) datarate. Even if your computer isn't good enough to play the files, the files are still perfectly fine. My computer can barely play back the files, making it seem like the files are bad and my computer can't record them in high quality. But in reality, the files are perfectly fine because when I upload them to YouTube they are perfect. But when I play them back from the original files on my computer they are very laggy because my computer can't handle it. Record on the highest data rate dude. The files are fine.

Hmm... but the lines on your tv? Make sure you aren't using any splitters. Also, if you have a universal cable that plugs into multiple consoles, unplug all of them except for the system that you are using. And it may seem dumb I know, but make sure that the cables are very securely plugged into your console, tv, and pvr.

Problem solved. I researched how to play games using hdmi while recording with pvr. I have to buy this thing called "Component to HDMI converter", this will allow me to play in HD 720p without any problems. Yes, I did make the bit rate to the max and the turned on the hardware acceleration. The quality of the video did improved.

Thanks a lot for the help.
