how comes? i though they worked if you wasnt on the internet

No.. u need to remove the HDD as the patches are stored there, then to get the 'five' map. Go to main menu and tap the shoulder buttons x4 then go 2 the pc and type 3arc unlock

I am trying to do that glitch but when I type 3arc intel and go to sit down. It doesnt show up.. I removed my HDD and everything but it just won't show up.

the glitches wont work offline unless you go in your memory on your hard drive and delete the patch 3 i think it is for black ops. then you can do every glitch offline but if you try to get online again even while doing the glitches it will tell you that you have to download the patch again.
