Usually when I watch the commentaries, they RARELY talk about the gameplay, and just ramble on about some other stuff in their lives. So here is the question:


What should I talk about?

It's my first commentary and I wanna make it good, so any tips at all would be great!

Don't just talk about the gameplay. Talk about random things going on atm and also make a list of topics, gives your commentary an order and you wont stumble your words. :p

Golden tip: Don't say "Ummm" "ehhh" "hmmm" anything of that nature.

Yeah I have a habit of saying "Uhhh", "Umm", and "Ehh" quite a bit lol. It's a habit i gotta break when so I don't mess up doing comms.

And any ideas on topics to talk about? Once I get a few comms done, I'm sure i'd be fine, but i dunno what to talk about for the first few.

If you really wanna make it sound good, have a script infront of you and make sure you have enough things to talk about for the full time. And spend the first 2-3 minute just introducing yourself. Finally, don't be monotonous, even if you are naturally monotonous then you need to force yourself to use different tones in your voice, even if you feel like a dick doing it the people listenig won't know who you are or look like and will prefer it if you vary the tone in your voice.

Yeah haha thanks I always talk in a monotonous tone, except for when i'm mad at the game and busy flipping out on people..... OOOORRRR when i throw in a Russian accent while i'm playing, because it's really difficult to talk in a russian accent without having some sort of emotion and tone to your voice lol Yet another habit i have to break.. monotonous talking :/

I would say talk mostly about yourself in the first and go more into gameplay later on.

Dont stutter when talking

I dont stutter, i fumble with my sentences while i'm trying to think of what to say. My mouth works faster than my mind, and i usually end up trying to talk, but with no idea of what to talk about..
