Change the game mode to Search & Destroy (or whatever you want) and edit the game settings to the settings you want (I didn't get any custom settings to work in the game)
Click switch lobby then hover over combat training (don't click it yet)
Click combat training, then up and then X/A (to start game) THIS MUST BE DONE QUICKLY
While it's loading, dashboard (quit game) and then your friend will be in a combat training with the game mode as SnD

ok so i have tried this method and it works fine: apart from how do i put unlimited lives on it and how do i transfer classified guns from CT to online account

You cant put classified weapons onto an online mode, but I dunno lol.

I knowit says Dashboard, but does this work for the PS3?

Sorry to bring this post back up, but let me clear up some things.

To do this, when you invite your friend into that private match in the beginning, you can put the time to unlimited.

then, after you go to dashboard, get on black ops, go straight to private match.

Set the match to Search and Destroy,
Unlimited time
Put lives to unlimited
Health to miniscule[not needed but easier kills]
Highlight over Unlimited lives.

Have your friend invite you to the combat training lobby.
let him back out. Exit out of the unlimited lives screen, invite your friend or play alone.

Also, I have a question. Is there anyway I can get unlocked guns on multiplayer?
Like taking it from Combat Training.
