We have discussed trading PS3s and I know that would work I would just use a new account to play online. But my question is if we traded PS3's but each kept our original hard drives would I still be unbanned?

yes because 3arc bans ur MAC address which is located on the ps3's WIFI board so it would work and you will be unbanned.

3arc does not ban the mac m8 but I think it will work since 3arc bans ur ps3's ID number that is unique in every ps3
