A W/L ratio is what I look for. I know this guy who's K/D is 0.83 but his W/L is 2.70 and he is a legend because he plays the objective.
My K/D is 1.10 but I rush and play the objective and die ALOT doing that. All a high K/D means is that you either camp or pull your Ethernet cable if you do anything worse than 3.00
Not necessarily my KDR is a 3.99 and a W/L is 2.65. I don't camp. Most of the time it's better to play the objective. But it is also very helpful if you earn high killstreaks for your team. It's harder to get them when playing the obj unfortunately :/
