okay i got permission by TheKid420 to post a new update on getting host on black ops. So all credit goes to him for this great tut You must login or register to view this content.

Well if you haven't seen his tut on forcing host with lag switch then go take a look at it before asking stupid question like "how do i make a lag switch" and all that crap. GOOGLE < use that.

its a short simple update nothing special or major

UPDATE:

-When joining the game you want, right when it says``testing matches xx% - 0/xx good games" or whatever % it is.
-Turn on you're lag switch and LEAVE IT ON THAT.
-don't switch it off as in 420's video.
-Takes about 10 seconds of lagging it at that you will be in your own lobby.
-Host Migration will happen. when migrating host just turn on till 4 and then off. no need to turn back on at 5. when i do that it usually lags me out.
-just a easier and simple way of getting you're own lobby instead of having to turn it on then off then on an then off.
INFO:
-After each game to see if you still have host or not.
-Turn on you're lag switch right when it gets to 0 before the game counts down
-When lagging it, if it starts counting down turn off lag switch and you'll still have host.
-If it doesn't count down while lagging then no host and back out.

-Flame all you want. It's a game. Us lag switchers LOVE it when you cry about us lag switching.

this seems to be just luck based on my end. i'm able to get into a host party where it says waiting for 5 players.... players are added and i flip on the switch quickly after they are added to make sure it doesn't migrate on me. when it does migrate (i have the switch already on at this point) i wait until 4 and then turn the switch off. now sometimes it will go straight to "match is about to begin" and i know that i have host, but if it goes quickly to "need more players to balance teams" and then "match is about to begin" i lose host.

am i doing something wrong? I know i've spliced the right wire (orange one) but have tried the green one too and same issues. it seems to work at a higher percentage on wager matches but i don't want to play wager matches.

i set my party settings to locale only. my setup is modem-lagswitch-router-ps3

also, i seem to only get "free lag" and can't get "freeze lag". I've only gotten freeze lag once.

so to recap if you want to skip all of the above, its.... (lag switch on) "migrating host, 1, 2, 3, 4 (flip switch off) need more players, match is about to begin" and then i lose host. this happens 95% of the time

u have to set up ur connection settings. custom then change it to 10 base full dubplex and the mtu is 1500 thats all u change,an u should be good

i tried the full and half, before, but i tried them both again and i still get the same problem. migrating host....1...2...3...4...flip off switch...waiting for more players..game is about to begin.. and then i lose host. it works when it goes right to game is about to begin without saying waiting for more players but that rarely happens. anyone else running into this???

Ya it's cuz when your switch is on and it's doing the 1234 then off players are quiting. Wait for other people to join and do the 1234 thing again and u will b host. I get it to work 98%of time on ps3 and 100% on xbox

tried that, still isn't working.... it might be my ethernet cable??? does it matter if the orange cable is longer or shorter than it originally was? I had to cut some of the orange wire off before i put it into the switch terminals.

its probably 6 inches shorter than it originally was so maybe this is causing a problem but i dont see why it should.

sometimes i have luck by flipping the lag switch to on right when it says migrating host, and sometimes i have luck flipping it off when it gets to migrating host...4, but for the most part little to no luck.

for those of you getting free lag who want freeze lag----this has worked for me sometimes. if you are free lagging and want to freeze lag, flip your switch on, unplug your ethernet cable from the modem, wait 2-3 seconds, plug ethernet cable back in while flipping back off your switch. repeat after a few seconds of gameplay if it doesnt work the first time. pulling your ethernet immediately freeze lags. its just about crapping up your connection more if you're only free lagging.

uuugh its frustrating though because i can get host up until the very end 100% of the time and then it migrates on me. any other methods i can try???

About host migration.

1. After you get in as host and the lobby starts to fill with players. The best way to stop migration is to be fast and hit the switch as the migration message pops up if you are getting countdowns you are starting to lag late try doing it faster and their will never be a countdown.

2.The easiest way to tell if you keep host after a game is to see if all the last games scores are displayed, if everyone is listed at a zero score then you list host.
