Xbox Live announced today that beginning on May 3rd, Black Ops will become a downloadable title in the Games on Demand section. For those of you who aren't familiar with the service, Xbox Live's Games on Demand offers full, retail games as a digital download - meaning you don't have to to GameStop and buy a physical copy of the game.

These games are typically best-selling titles that have been out for a while, and the price is usually something like $39.99. Pricing for Black Ops on Games on Demand isn't available yet, but it will*be out on May 3rd, coinciding with the release of Escalation map pack.

The Games on Demand release should serve as the most convenient way to purchase the game.
