, This is the setting of the Campaign mission 'Project nova', the nova6 facility/ship when your playing Dimitri.,Nova 6 turns people into zombies like in the campaign where Dimitri Petrenko gets ****ed over by steiner and Kravchenko.
Then the British Commandos try and infiltrate the facility and get nova 6 for themselves,
Hence why some of the zombies are wearing the gas masks just like the commandos in the campaign.
Lol just thought it was cool

I thought we already knew this because that "death ray" easter egg was found on that map. If you used no clip and flew onto the boat there was a newspaper and the headline was death ray... also it was next to the grim reaper sign found in the zombie maps. Sorry if i have got it wrong
