About 3 months ago I noticed that I started to get REALLY BAD at Black Ops. I couldn't shoot my gun correctly and control the recoil. It would bounce all over the place. It made me feel like I lost all my skill and I eventually decided to just stop playing all together. Well, as of late, I have been playing more and the same thing is happening. It feels like everything I do is delayed..

Sometimes when I put Black Ops in my PS3 it won't even recognize that it's in there. I have to take it out and put it in a few times.

Here is where it gets really really interesting. My cousin has been here for the week and he has his slim ps3 with him (mine is fat btw, 80GB). I thought to myself that MAYBE it was my PS3 that was the problem, so I tried his on my TV.

Guess what? No screen lag, no gun recoil going all over the place, and I'm dominating like I used to. But..... I wake up today, redownload the map packs onto his PS3 and all the screen lag and recoil is back. I can't control anything.

Please someone tell me what is going on. I am losing my mind.

I sometimes have these issues and when I do, I just take a break from cod

- Sometimes it helps changing your weapons of choice
- Delete all inbox/outbox messages + old inactive friends + unused game/save data (may help your connection)
- Search for "Locale Only" games for better connections
- Try a router reset
- Check your NAT type

Other than that I don't know what might help you

I left his PS3 on pretty much all night downloading map packs you think it might be overheated? Maybe mine was doing that too

Tbh I think you're just inconsistent and you were having a good day. Either that or your ping is messed up at certain times of the day. I play better in the morning because my ping is as it should be (30) but at night it jumps to 150. Check yours at You must login or register to view this content.

I used to do good constantly until about 3 months ago. I'm not going to lie I didn't do good EVERY game but it was like 8 games out of 10 that I would have a really good score. I'll do the speed test now..

Well that's not the problem. 50 isn't the best but it's definitely not bad. See if it's bad at some other time of the day. If not I have no idea what the problem is.

I get 4 bar alot so I know my ping isn't the problem. It's kinda like my screen is lagging and everything I do is delayed. My gun's recoil seems out of control too. Last night when I played on my cousins PS3 though I was completely dominating and using the Famas like a laser beam.

do you get host? i know back when the game came out and i played on ps3 i got host 95% of the time and it was terrible. everyone in the lobby got to enjoy my good connection while i lagged all around and dropped fps/

fat ps3s lag a lil more than slim.

i had a FAT and it said i had 40% connection. Good days around 60%.
I currently have a slim and its around 90%, 98% on good days

Mental? I dont really know i also have a Fat 80gb PS3 and play Normal and i got both map packs and the Same TV i've been playing. My Fat PS3 was on NON stop for like 3 or 4 days Downloading inFamous 2 after it was done, i went to black ops and played normally.
