Post: Black Ops - FastFile Viewer - server script compile error bad syntax
11-01-2012, 03:10 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I'm using the FastFile viewer to edit and save my mod in patch_mp.ff,
but when i play black ops on the following error appears:
server script compile error bad syntax

Then caught a patch_mp.ff cleaned not changed anything, i saved with the fastfile viewer, and the same error occurs:
server script compile error bad syntax

Others peoples also reported this error but it seems that there were no answers.

I am not very sure about this but its either the ffviewer or the game. Basically i save 2 of the exact same replica's of patches. 1 works and 1 fails. I mean every single thing inside the patch is the same. I mean everything. Yet 1 bad syntaxes and 1 works. Im not sure if its the FFviewer causing a problem when saving and only works like 10% of the time.

hmm, weird
i added a simple "self iprintln" script into a clean patch and i got a blackscreen
removed it, re-saved and got bad syntax (all works on PC)

what could be the cause of this?

I have an error message when i mod.
"Server script compile error" Bad Syntax.

Even when I change the name of a function ...

Please help to solve this problem or suggestions.

Other programs that could use for this.

Thank you!

can normally get it working eventually, if the gsc has no syntax errors
Just keep trying renaming different gsc files.

Something that is not working should not be Sticky Threads, or i must be a complete idiot for being one of the only ones not to get something so simple.

I asked for help several users that understand what i want to do, but not interested in help, looks like a closed group that only they can enjoy certain things and others that are damn.

thanks to DEREKTROTTER for trying to help!

The tool is buggy, but it works. It is THE ONLY fastfile tool for black ops that supports PS3, that's why it's stickied.

So is the second option, i am a complete idiot for being one of the only ones not to get something so simple.

Oh that's who managed to use this tool, it does not explain how, there is a way to make it work but how?
Of all forms that have tried have always the same error!

Should not simply be luck!
