Not sure on not using a red dot but it still a good setup.

I agree, gave it a go with Silencer + Grip, and then changed the grip out for a RDS. Didn't notice much difference in stability without Grip, but the RDS made me so much more accurate. Iron sights on it are terrible, imo.

Ironsights on Tar are bad. I personally have never been a fan of red dot sights on SMGs or especially when scrubs put thermal sights on SMGs. The Vepr and CJB has good iron sights.

I like VEPR with silencer, and maybe extended mags. Perks Sleight of Hand, Quick Draw, Off The Grid, Dead Silence and Hardline. With C4.

SInce the maps are bigger you can get away with rushing with Assault Rifles better than in BO2.
